Lighthouse Healthcare Partners trained 25 environmental services individuals in safe and effective cleaning and disinfecting processes, using our portfolio of products that include Defender sporicidal disinfect and Trust single-use microfiber mops and wipes.  This facility was created in preparation for the peak of the virus in this region by providing an additional 150 dedicated COVID- 19 beds with the ability to expand to a total of 300 if needed.  The environmental services staff are an instrumental part of the healthcare team, doing their part to help control the spread of the virus.

Why is Defender used here on every surface, including floors?  Defender (Klorkleen 2) is registered with the EPA for emerging viral pathogens at the highest level – 2c and is listed on the EPA’s List N for use against SARS-CoV-2.  Defender is recommended at 4306 ppm with a 1-minute contact time.  Trust single-use microfiber is also a best practice during cleaning and disinfection processes.

Our dedication to reducing healthcare acquired infections is our mission and we are eager to do our share during the COVID- 19 outbreak.  This training is one of many ways we are here to help.
