Lighthouse Celebrates Environmental Services Week | 09/12 – 09/18

The emergence of new and harmful viral pathogens has always been a concern for industries all over the world, but it wasn’t until COVID-19 that the general public fully understood the severity and repercussions of a pandemic-scale outbreak. Among many other vital lessons, COVID-19 has taught us that perhaps the most dangerous threat to humanity is one that we cannot see. For many in the infection prevention industry, this ongoing battle against disease is referred to as the War on Pathogens.

At the forefront of this war are workers and professionals that, until recently, have generally avoided the media’s spotlight. However, this week (September 12-18) we celebrate and say thank you to all of the environmental service professionals who are on the frontlines fighting the war on pathogens. Today, and every day, we strive to acknowledge the lengths that environmental service departments go to keep us safe and healthy.
